A Lot More You Can Do With Centrifugal And Masticating Juicers

Whether it’s a morning or late night, a glass of juice is always helpful for your health. In present time, there are many types of juicers available in the market. Masticating and centrifugal juicers are among them. A lot more you can do with these juicers. Before anything, firstly be clear about the fact that both juicer and blender are different from each other. Basically, a juicer extracts only the juice of the fruit whereas a blender crushes the whole fruit and converts it into liquid form. Therefore, a juicer is more effective for daily juice needs. Few features and characteristics of centrifugal and masticating juicers are given below-

Centrifugal juicers

It is one of the most popular juicers. As its name says, it runs on the principal of centrifugal forces. These juicers spin very fast (approx 10,000 rpm) and this spinning force separates the juice from the pulp. Separated pulp goes into pulp bin while juice filters and goes to the container or jug. Centrifugal juicers generally come in two speeds; i.e., fast and ultimate. Ultimate setting can be used for hard pulp fruits whereas fast setting can be used for fruits without or soft pulp.

Advantages and disadvantage – There is a quick response time and requires less chopping of veggies or fruits. In addition to this, it is also cheaper and heavier than other juicers; it is also easy to operate and clean. The only disadvantage of centrifugal force based juicer is that it is less suitable for juicing fruits like berries and other soft pulp fruits or vegetables.

Masticating juicers

This juicer kind is also known as slow or cold press juicer. These juicers are generally expensive and available only at few shops. This juicer type slowly crushes vegetables or fruits with its rotating augers. Masticating juicers come in both options, i.e. single gear or twin gear machine.

Advantages and disadvantages – these juicers are more versatile in nature than other juicers. Being versatile, these juicers can be used as coffee or mixer grinders. Along with this, these juicers can be used in making nut butters, pasta and sometimes even ice cream. The best part is that this type of juicer comes with long warranties. Masticating juicers are quieter in operating and suitable for juicing fruits like berries and other soft pulp fruits. Disadvantages of Masticating juicers are slow in operating, there are lots of parts for cleaning and most importantly, it is very expensive juicer option.
